52 Ruby St.,Winnipeg, Feb. 14 - 15Dear Gordon:-Rec'd your post- card yesterday and we were all very much surprised to hear you had at last joined the Army and I suppose you are quite proud of yourself to think you are at last going to fight the Germans, and we feel proud too, to think we will have a relative going to fight. Although we of course would rather not see anyone go.I am sending the Balaclava Cap and hope you find some use for it, but if you already have one you can pass it along to one of your Pals.Now I hope you will write me again and let me know how you like being a soldier and how it agrees with you.Roy and his family were here for dinner tonight and have just gone home. Jack and Gerry are certainly two great boys. I think Gerry will be a Hockey Player to beat his Dad.We had a fierce snow storm last night and it has kept it up all day and it is fierce out now.
