The Oakville Historical Society preserves and promotes historical heritage of the Town of Oakville, Ontario.
Throughout the year, our promotional efforts include hosting various family activities and events that promote Oakville's heritage and get the public involved in learning about the town and what we do. Our plaques are aimed at preserving historical sites around town, while we offer services to the public such as guided walking tours and exhibits.

We are helped with our efforts through membership and volunteers, who are the heart of the Society.
We greatly appreciate the support received from The Town of Oakville, Ontario Heritage Organization Development Grants and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

Our offices are in The Cottages. These are located on the north side of the Erchless Estate, erected in the mid-1950s. Now equipped with environmental control systems, they provide the Society with archival storage, a library and display space for exhibits. Visitors can explore the library and various displays and find resources and information about Oakville's history.
