If interested in becoming an intern, please become a member. This is free for full-time students.
We often hire Interns through the "Young Canada Works Program", and "Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations". This is a job description from a previous year. Also, apply through the "Canada Summer Jobs Program". The normal deadlines are during January, for the summer of employment. Better to apply during December of the previous year.
Students going into grade nine or already in High School, also join us as volunteers. They can earn the forty Community Involvement Hours required for graduation.
For 2023, our interns are Lauren Willoughby and Ryan Gravelle.

Our Summer Interns provide invaluable services to the Oakville Historical Society. They can gain priceless experience to help develop a career path.
Our interns worked in separate areas of our offices during 2020 and most of 2021. Interns also worked from home. (Our offices remain closed to casual visitors.) Are you a post-secondary student, or know of a student, who is interested in history and/or museums? If so, please send a resume to information@oakvillehistory.org |
Fall Archive Assistants 2020-2021.
In better times our volunteers enjoyed sharing afternoon tea with our students. This year three students have each other for company. Emily Ing, Madison Carmichael, and Julie Suh have settled into work.
As COVID restrictions increased, students worked from home and took turns being in the office.
As COVID has changed going into 2023, things have opened up and restrictions have been relaxed.
Some of our interns have started full-time careers with different heritage organizations.
