Mayor's Annual Historical Picnic
(Traditionally the 2nd Sunday in June)

The Oakville Historical Society once again welcomes the young and the young-at-heart; to collectively celebrate the start of the summer season.

How? The Annual Mayor’s Picnic of course.

Where? Oakville’s oldest park, Lakeside Park at the foot of Navy St.

When? Sunday June 14, 2020, from 12:00 noon to 4:30 pm.

Mayor Burton will have opening remarks at 12:15 pm. He welcomes the opportunity to meet and chat with neighbours and friends all afternoon. This includes while the music is playing and the Scottish dancers are dancing!!

Bring your lawn chairs and a picnic lunch.

The sandwich SOCIETY is selling picnic basket lunches in advance. Pickup or have it delivered to the Mayor's Historical Picnic.

The packed picnic lunches are for two people and up.  We can do any size!  The price for two people for 2019 was $29.95. it included a high end sandwich for each person, grapes, a mini lemon loaf for each person and two drinks. The basket and napkins are included as well!  We are proud to not use any plastic drink bottles and only use glass or tins.

At the picnic, sit back and enjoy the dancing and music, learn a bit of Oakville’s history by visiting the Thomas House, the Oakville Museum and the Oakville Historical Society office.

Invite your friends, family and neighbours. And once again children are invited to participate in fun activities such as face-painting, looking down on the park from the Oakville Hydro cherry-picker, admiring old cars and locating a number of historical items. A number of new youth activities are planned for this year. Prizes include yacht cruises, ghost walks and books. See you there!

Please pass on information about the picnic to your friends and neighbours.
