Guided Ghost Walks - Mid October to October 29

If you joined us for the Ghost walks of 2015 or previous years, please share your comments, stories or pictures etc. You may use the contact form below. If in comments, pictures are mentioned, we will send you details on picture sharing.

If you are interested in joining a ghost walk or helping us, please let us know. You may use the form below.
Ghost Walks Celebrate Hallowe'en by joining Society volunteers for a guided walk around the oldest part of the Town with an eerie spine tingling sensation and a dash of old Oakville history. Hear about some of Oakville's ghosts and haunted happenings. Perhaps you'll see a spirit or two on your walk!

"I was lucky enough to go on the ghost walk on Tuesday, October 21 at 8 pm. What a great experience! Just wanted to let you know we had a great time. It really opened our eyes to Oakville's past. Thanks very much!"

Particularly well suited for children and youth groups such as Guides, Brownies, Cubs and Scouts.
These walks start at our office, 110 King Street, and tend to fill up. Book early to avoid disappointment.  Please meet in the office of the Oakville Historical Society 10-15 minutes before your Walk is scheduled to begin. Normal duration is about an hour, plus refreshment time after the walk. If anyone has a food allergy, please let us k`now in the comments section of the form below, or by other means.

We cannot accommodate animals on the walk; with the exception of service animals.

Groups of young children will have a 45 minute walk. There must be one adult for every 4 –5 youngsters.  Each adult must be assigned specific children and know the names of these children.
If you have any questions, comments, or pictures to share with us, please use our contact page.
Ghost Walks prices in 2014 were $12 per adult, children 12 and under, $6. Infants free. All Walks are Cash only, payable at the beginning of the walk.  Drop in for a visit in downtown Oakville, if you dare (article from 2012).

Advanced reservations are strongly suggested so we can inform you of any last minute changes and avoid disappointment. Please use the ghost walk form above or call 905-844-2695 up to the morning of the walk.  We do our best to accommodate those who show up at the scheduled start time without reservations, but the risk is yours!  We do cancel walks for bad weather. Your reservation will allow us to contact you.

For groups, we are pleased to offer other guided tours. These tours include tea and light refreshments served afterwards at our offices. This is an opportunity to discuss the walk and ask additional questions of the group leader. These complete guided tours are often lively and entertaining. The cost is $10 per person. For individuals and small groups, please ask about pricing. Please contact us at least two weeks in advance.
All Walks are Cash only, payable at the beginning of the walk.

Thank you Kate, for the above pictures of this year's walk. These were taken on Tuesday October 28, 2014.

The first picture (of Duncan Chisholm's 3 houses) shows a full orb above the houses. That night, the moon was a crescent. The last full moon was October 8, when there was a lunar eclipse. The following full moon is November 6. There is a fainter orb to the left. Click on the picture for a clearer view.
